Do I need to attend an in-person onboarding appointment?

If you want to see a doctor about a mental health related issue, you don’t need to attend an in-person onboarding appointment. You can proceed directly to book a bulk billed video call with .doctor.

What does it cost?

All our appointments are fully bulk-billed to Medicare, so as long as you have a current Medicare card you will never have any out-of-pocket costs.

How can I get a GP MHTP bulk billed?

Simply book two 20 minute video appointments with a .doctor GP and, if suitable, you will receive a GP Mental Health Treatment Plan and referral. This can be used with any psychologist in Australia to receive bulk billed or Medicare-subsidised therapy.

Why do I have to book 2 appointments?

Our priority is quality care. In your first appointment, your .doctor GP will ask questions and assess your symptoms. Follow-up appointments will be used to review your progress.

 

Who can use .doctor?

Anyone in Australia with a current Medicare card can book a mental health video consultation with .doctor. 

How do I get a Mental Health Treatment Plan online?

You can get a MHTP and a referral to a psychologist by speaking with a .doctor GP. This will require two bulk billed consults and you’ll receive the plan in your second appointment.
